These minimally invasive procedures, which serve both diagnostic and therapeutic purposes, are performed under the precise guidance of CT or ultrasound imaging. We offer a wide variety of injections, including steroid and anaesthetic treatments for conditions like bursitis, tendinopathy, fluid aspiration, and spine-related issues such as nerve root, facet joint, and epidural injections.

Specific preparation instructions will be provided during booking. Wear comfortable, two-piece clothing, and consider arranging transportation home as some procedures may temporarily limit mobility.
Please bring:

You’ll be guided to the examination room, where the radiologist will explain the process and help you prepare. Using CT or ultrasound imaging, the radiologist will precisely administer the injection to the targeted area. Most procedures are quick, minimally invasive, and performed with your comfort in mind.
Most Medicare-eligible services are bulk billed by BR Radiology Group. If additional costs apply, our booking team will notify you beforehand.
- Anaesthetic effects: Immediate relief lasting 3 to 12 hours.
- Steroid effects: Relief begins within 2 days to 2 weeks and builds progressively.
Temporary symptom recurrence may occur as the anaesthetic wears off before the steroid takes full effect.
Most injections take less than a minute, but additional time is allotted for preparation and explanation. CT-guided injections, such as those for the lower back or joints, may take 5 to 10 minutes.
We provide a variety of pain relief injections, including:
- Facet joint injections.
- Perineural/foraminal injections.
- Translaminar epidural injections.
- Transforaminal epidural injections.
- Facet joint injections may cause a mild sting and slight pressure during administration.
- Nerve root or epidural injections may cause brief back or leg discomfort when the needle approaches the nerve, followed by a sense of pressure as the medication is injected. These sensations resolve quickly.

Yes, recent imaging (CT or MRI within the past two years) is necessary to accurately target the area and rule out other causes of pain.
Reports are typically ready within 24 to 48 hours. If urgent results are needed, inform us during your appointment, and we will expedite the process.
